Abstract-Expressionist style from Hungary

NORMAL GERGELY is a visual and sound artist from Hungary. He usually paints in an abstract-expressionist style. Next, to the use of the ordinary canvas, he would create his works on extraordinary materials, like old wooden doors and used furniture components. The various materials have their own past, which is a strong inspiration for the artist’s beginning of his works. He could be seen as a recycler; remaking the objects into new works of art.
The abstract shapes are landscapes in the mind as galactic x-ray images. The portraits are dark and futureless, which reminds us of an isolated rural community. On the other hand, there are machines and factories in his ink graphics; the industrial view is the main topic in his artworks. REISEBÜRO86 is a solo project founded 2012 by Normal Gergely. It is not easy to describe the dark sounds of Reisebüro86, or even to put it into one genre. It contains, for example, a lot of experimental guitar sounds by unusual guitar picks, with tribal microphone noises, moreover few distorted synth sounds from the 90’s. The really chaotic industrial noise interflows with some rhythmic atmospheric ambient sonority.
