
Nigerian photographer William Ukoh
I am excited to present here the work of the Nigerian photographer William Ukoh whose work I first saw on Afropunk website with his latest work Lagos Futurism – A fashion Portrait piece highlighting the creative uprising going on in West Africa.
William Ukoh, also known as willyverse, is a young Nigerian-born artist, currently based in Toronto. His diverse work encompasses fashion, portraiture and documentary photography, as well as film. His personal work has addressed subjects ranging from cultural appropriation to the entrepreneurial spirit of Lagos’s artisans.
