Beautiful, clean, well-balanced designs, creativity and novelty is what characterises Greek designer’s Marios Karystios work, who mostly specializes in branding but his interior design of a Math classroom in Cyprus also looks fresh and wonderful, clean and unique.
Marios Karystios was born in Athens, Greece in 1980. He studied Graphic design at the Technological Institution of Athens and Applied Imagination in the Creative Industries at Central Saint Martins in London. He is an IKY scholar. He has worked in Y&R Athens as an art director for clients such as WIND, Medecins Sans Frontieres, Alfa Romeo, LG, Apivita, Colgate-Palmolive, Danone, Barilla, Philip Morris and Campina and has been a dj since the 00’s.
In 2012 he moved to Cyprus countryside and started working on various design projects. His main focus is turning small businesses, products and ideas into success stories. In each project he collaborates with illustrators, photographers, entrepreneurs, scientists and art people from around the globe.
His work has been exhibited in galleries and published in newspapers, magazines and design blogs worldwide such as Monocle, Wallpaper, El Pais, Elle, Novum, Lürzer’s Archive, Dezeen, Dwell, IdN, GDR, the Dieline, Trendhunter and POTW amongst others. He was awarded the WSET Intermediate Certificate in Wine & Spirits and is spending time in tasting wines, growing vegetables and playing with his daughter.
