Martin Wickstrom has been illustrating for books, magazines, advertising, web and more since 2003. Originally from Sweden, currently lives in Connecticut, USA.
In 2008 he expanded his creative services to target the art licensing markets, offering his work to manufacturers in a wide range of fields. This new style and direction was launched under the alias Benjamin Bay.
As we can see, in his work he uses the human body and face to communicate ideas. The style is retro and decorative, often with a worn, textured look. He finds great inspiration in mid-century collectibles and art, as well as other contemporary illustrators.
