We use to say that facebook friends are not our real friends… Well, they can be very real and they can become our family in this beautiful global community of design, where we, all the artists and designers of the world, are one big family and yesterday we lost one of our family members. Our heart today is filled with sorrow upon the sad news about the Juan Carlos Darias Copas passing. Our most sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. Juan Carlos Darias was a member of the International Reggae Poster Contest Jury since 2012, and had offered us some wonderful artworks to support Alpha Boys School and the Contest. Recently took part in the 2014 selection. We will certainly miss his brilliant creative mind. He will be a great loss to the International design community.

Juan Carlos Darias Copas was a graphic designer since 1986, director Clips designer magazine, art director of the magazine Popder Young, member of the Gallery AVAP, academic director since 1989 in various institutes design, ISA, IDA. Founder and director of the Institute of Design Darias (1996). Head Teacher Art and writer specialized in design Logos magazine.
Consultant and honorary member of International Design Conference figfico (COIDIGRA), Mérida, Venezuela. Instructor in the extension area Simón Bolívar University. Friend of Icograda. Speaker at national and international events, including: International Congress of Graphic Design Merida (2003, 2004, 2005), Design Week in Sao Paulo (2004), 8th Biennial International Cartel in Mexico (2004), History of Design in Venezuela University Anhembi Morumbi in Sao Paulo, Brazil, among others.
Curator, participant and organizer of several exhibitions: Idea Visual, proposals of a school, Among Beings and Fantasies, Dog Picado, designer Felipe Taborda Carioca in Caracas – a vision Brazilian contemporary poster.
