Packaging design is an essential component in our culture. More than just a container, packaging tells the story of a product, makes promises. An effective design that breaks away from the standards will become an eye catching one making products desirable, sellable, understandable, memorable. This is where I believe “London Studio” focuses on with their great and provocative, modern and minimalist packaging, and not only, design.

Packaging Design for the Family Jam Kitchen
The client’s brief…
To design the product packaging for the Family Jam Kitchen’s range of jams. The clients first priority was for us to use design to create a point of difference from other products already in the market. This needed to be achieved with an effective design that could be implemented cheaply using “off the shelf” jars.
Our direction for the design…
We knew for the range to be successful it would have to stand out and command attention on a cluttered supermarket shelf. So after researching competitive products on the market we crafted a simple piece of typography in a minimalist style to do this. The design was printed on a transparent label and this allowed the colour and texture of the jam to become a prominent selling feature of the product.

Our direction for the design…
We knew that for the packaging design of the Tempest Shaving Range to be successful needed to cut through the clutter of the supermarket shelf and command attention of the right kind of consumer. To do this we crafted a stark modern design with a dominant image that gives hint to both the order in which the products should be used and to differentiate the products from each other.
