Professor Takashi Akiyama teaches design at Tama Art University, and he is the director of the Takashi Akiyama Poster Museum in Nagaoka, Japan. Born in Nagaoka-shi, Niigata, Japan in 1952. His signature style is recognized worldwide as a powerful blend of energy, humor and social commentary. For decades, his work has been lauded by the world’s most important international competitions, including a gold medal in the 1986 Warsaw Bieniale.
