Victoria Graphic Artist to receive prestigious GOLD MEDAL from Ambassador of Mexico.

Victoria Graphic Artist – Andrew Lewis to receive prestigious GOLD MEDAL from His Excellency Francisco Suarez-Davila – Ambassador of Mexico in Canada and Ms. Claudia Franco – Consul General of Mexico. The Gold Medal was won by Lewis at the International Poster Exhibition of Mexico in Mexico City out of a field of 8,400 entries.The poster designed and illustrated by Andrew Lewis features a co-branding image between Converse (USA) and Marimekko (Finland) was used for local retail business Baggins Shoes of Victoria BC. The Gold Medal was awarded in October 2012 at the Franz Mayer Museum for the International Poster Exhibition of Mexico – the world’s second largest poster exhibition. This is the first time a Canadian designer has won the Gold Medal in the 24 year history of this international poster Biennial. The Government of Mexico will be making the presentation to Andrew Lewis at the BC Parliament Building from His Excellency Francisco Suarez-Davila – Ambassador of Mexico.The ceremony will be held October 24th, 2:00pm, at the BC Parliament Buildings in the Rattenbury Room, 501 Belleville Street, Victoria BC.
